Mark Your Calendars Announcing The 29th Annual Linguica Run Sunday - July 13, 2008 at Henry Miller Park in Gustine, California
The Gustine Firemen's Breakfast and our own ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Linguica Lunch!!! (for registered participants) Come, help us celebrate our club's 60th anniversary !! Send your registration in early so you don't miss the Limited Edition Tshirts. The Westside Auto Club was established in 1948 as a drag race club in Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties, and we are celebrating our 60th year. One of the common racing spots was the Ballico drags in Ballico, Ca. near Turlock. There are currently about 35 members with rods and customs of various years. The club participates in numerous activities throughout the year. Our main fund raiser being the Linguica Run. We started the Linguica Run in 1979 at the Los Banos fairgrounds as a 2 day event. It was later moved to Gustine,Ca and held in the Henry Miller Park as a 1 day event. The run attracts about 325 pre-1977 vehicles and serves about 1000 linguica lunches. Proceeds Go To:
Scholarships for Newman, Gustine, Turlock, Patterson, and Hilmar High School Auto Shops also Christmas Baskets for Needy, Area Families |
